About

Welcome to Zoomed In, the Ai Squared Blog!  The title is a play on the name ZoomText, which is our flagship product here at Ai Squared.

We are committed to our customers and wanted to open a new channel of communication that’s both interactive and fun.  Here, we’ll review products that we think you might find useful, point you to interesting news stories about the world of accessibility, share videos, and allow you to get to know some of the people that work here.

We are really excited about Zoomed In and hope you are too.  Feel free to comment on our posts, we’d love to hear your thoughts.  Happy reading!

Have you ever thought about adding a little bit more than just your thoughts? I mean, what you say is important and everything. But its got no punch, no pop! Maybe if you added a pic or two, a video? You could have such a more powerful blog if you let people SEE what youre talking about instead of just reading it. Anyway, in my language, there are not much good source like this.

On certain web pages, my reader will read across an entire line even though the content isn’t related. For example, a Yahoo page or CNN where multiple stories are shown in boxes, my reader will read across all of them instead of just reading the two lines that are under the picture and relate soley to it. I’ve called your tech’s but no one seems to have an answer for this problem. Can you help! Its very frustrating!

    Hi Bev,

Let’s get this straightened out for you – send me your email address and I will have one of our techs contact you and sort this out. Out of curiosity, when you email me, let me know what version of ZoomText you are running. My email address is rproskin@aisquared.com. Thanks!

Zoomtext on Mac. I have just given up a work PC and want to install my Zoomtext (and Kurzweil 1000) on my Mac Mini running 10.6.7 the latest operating system. Does anybody have experience of using Bootcamp and Parallel with Windows. Parallel allows the mac to run Windows and Mac OS at the same time whereas Bootcamp requires you to start in either one or the other. Also, which Windows version is most advisable?

This question follows the survey recently sent out.

    Many thanks

    Hi Julian,

We don’t technically support either to be honest, but we’ve heard users say they have more luck with Bootcamp than Parallel. We don’t believe Parallel will work at all. I’m not sure about a version of Windows that’s most advisable – you might want to leave a comment on the Bootcamp post itself and ask those who have used it which version of Windows they were running.

has anyone managed to get zoom text working on a mac through parallels … i am not having much success

  • http://www.aisquared.com Becca White

    Hi Lynn,

We unfortunately don’t believe Parallel will work at all. We have heard that some people do use it but if you want to use a Mac, the best way to get ZoomText running is to use Bootcamp which basically puts a WIndows OS onto your Mac – not ideal, I know. Stay tuned for future updates :)

You are in luck Lynn – we recently (in the last few weeks) released a Mac version of ZoomText! You can find out all the details here: http://www.aisquared.com/mac. We have a free 30-day trial, videos, and more info there. Let me know if you have any questions at all.
