Hi all,

I have serious performance
and rendering problems with
ZT and FireFox2. Web applications
that have a lot of JavaScript
with drop-down menus, and
normal HTML drop-down boxes
and combos cause very laggy
and slow rendering and an overal
performance problem...

The performance is so bad
that it's actually quite frustrating
as a software developer.

NOTE: FireFox3 (alpha 7)
has no problems (or improved)
performance. However using
this in general is not an option
for me since I require FireBug
and that is only available in
FireFox2 at this time.

In general however, performance
and ZT is not just an issue
with FireFox. I do find it quite
slow in many other applications.

Appreciate any feedback,

cheers
James

Try going into your Windows System settings, under the Advanced tab and set your performance options to 'Adjust for best performance', see if that helps.

I'm sorry. The suggestion
of changing the Performance
settings of Windows XP
has little or no affect on
this problem.

I believe this is a serious
rendering issue with
some applications.

cheers
James

@James: You're right. I have the same problem. Just look e.g. on my homepage, which is W3C-conform, and you will recognize that everythings slow down with enabled ZT 9.1 M/R (Reader is disable).

There are also slow downs with Microsoft Office 2007. ZT 9.0 seemed to work better with Office 2007 than ZT 9.1 which should be compatible.

Heh, I only run ZT at the office, so I wouldnt consider my experience with it as being all that in-depth. But I run FF2 and ZT 9.11.2.7 and I havent noticed much slow-down at all (except on Google translate, those German/French emails are killing me!!). In Office '07 however, its a different story. I would suggest going to our Knowledge base, and searching for 'Office 2007' and then calling Microsoft about it, they'll send you out 2 shiny hotfix cd's. Install them and watch ZT and Office fly!!
