I have created ZT scripts which Change how ZT speaks individual symbols and phrases.
I am glad to share them with anyone who is interested.
The scripting environment is not well documented, so it took considerable trial-and-error to implement them.
By using these fully-customizable scripts, you can make ZT speak any printable symbol either the basic ones on the keyboard, or the ones specified by a given Unicode value.
As some examples,
the ? (question mark) symbol as: huh?
the ! (exclamation point) symbol as bang
The < (symbol as start Tag).
{ as start brace.
( as start par.
[ as start brak.
For those symbols not normally spoken,
?, ß, ?, ?, (alpha, beta, gamma, pi), µ (mu), and ° (degrees) are all now pronounced.
You can control whether they are spoken that way under certain circumstances, such as when separated by white space, or when surrounded by numbers, or when ZT is speaking one single character at a time, etc.
You can also cause foreign-language phrases to be spoken closer to how they would be in that other language.
And With regard to phrases,
You can control how ZT announces Title bars of windows,
For example, Document <document number> Microsoft word can be spoken as Doc <doc number> Word
I have lots of these preset, you can change the set of pronunciation filters however you like, I am glad to give guidance to those who need a bit of help, and the basic format is fairly straightforward.
The main thing you need to learn for the fancier adjustments are how to use regular expressions, which are similar to MS Word's Wildcard codes.
Just contact me if interested.

Sincerely,
Larry Silvermintz, PhD
