I've done some searching and haven't found anything related to my problem. So I'm posting. I have been dealing with this problem for some time, but have grown tired of it.

I am running Windows XP Pro, on 2 different Toshiba laptops. The problem exists on both.

When I run uTorrent (and if memory serves me correct other bittorent clients) and Zoomtext is running and in magnification mode, the video locks up randomly. The screen freezes, cannot move cursor. The system is still running properly in the background (music is still playing, MSN messages are still coming in). I have to shutdown the system and restart.

If I leave uTorrent minimized, everything is fine. If I turn off screen magnification and work in uTorrent, all is well. And often I can use uTorrent with magnification enabled and it will work for a period of time. Then, randomly, I'll select something and it will lock up.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

As an isolation step you could try having ZoomText exclude xFont technology for this specific application. A user interface to do this should be apparent in the magnifcation settings. I don't ZoomText with me otherwise I'd name the menu options.

I kind of have the same problem. I am using ZT8 though. Sometimes the video freezes just like you describe, but other times the whole computer freezes. It also happens rarely in other applications.

I've had the exact same thing happen last night with utorrent. I'm currently using zoomtext 9.0 on this computer. Any help to correct it would be great as it happened twice. Only solution i have to is to RDP into another box and do my torrentint from there.
