Doc Reader and Ap Reader do poorly reading multi-column screens, like AOL NEWs articles. With ApReader I can stop, re-size the window to allow only one column to show. reStart, etc. This usually allows proper reading.
But with DocReader; it has a mind of its own as to what I want read.
A. It goes all the way to the top of the page before starting.
B. it scrolls the screen. Especially when I have the window real small. It does not stay in the box, COLORed area, paragraph, or column I selected.
I know that it is very helpfull for the readers to be able scroll the screen. Broad blocks of text, & long lines of text require this capability. It would be nice to be able to turn this OFF at times!
Give option to turn scrolling ON or OFF.
I think DocReader going all the way to the top of the page is intentional.
I don't think you can select which parts of the screen it will or will not read. It depends on how the HTML of the page itself is made. Sometimes it's not ZoomText's fault, but the webmaster's.
Try turning off "Use captured fonts and styles" in DocReader. Maybe that will help?
You can turn off the "Track and hilight words" in AppReader but I don't think you can turn it off in DocReader.
Part of the problem could be how AOL formats it's pages, too.
