To all,
I found a way to prevent TINEY FONTS on web-pages!
I use MS IE > Internet PROPERTIES > ACCESSIBILITY button > IGNORE WEB FONT' SIZE check-box is set ON. This prevents most web-sites from using very small fonts (6 & 8 point)!
 This also works for people using AOL.
.Jim.

Hi Jim,

Oh neat! I did not know that. That will come in handy for some sites. Thanks!

By the way I thought this was a really great tip so I slightly modified this topic's subject line to make it a little more descriptive (hope that's okay with you, Jim), and made it a Sticky post so that it will stay at the top and people will be able to find it easier. :-D

This trick seems to have very little side effects. A few web-sites (quiet a while back) it made the page look a little dull. But I think I may have had all three FONT-limits checked.
Also, AOL had some problems with headers on the Welcome Screen. The shawdows did not match the letters for which they were shadows. This has been fixed, because of much complaining. :P

That's probably because AOL likely uses it's own special (and I mean special in every sense of the word...) coding for it's own stuff. :-p Just a guess, though.

AOL actualy listened to your complaints? Wow!

I have gotten many minor interface fixes put thru with my BETA testing bug reports. Often the mouse was required! now keyboard works! There are some problems still remaining.
AOL is working on a cool browser that is good for visually impaired users. Check it out at keyword BETA.
Happy Holidays!!!.

I just ran across this reply!
This forum is hard for me to use!@ I thought maybe the high-lighted (BOLD) thread names were ones I had not read yet??? :?: This one was not BOLD today! Maybe I did not scroll down far enough last time here. Very confusing! :?

Ya, I love BETA testing! I have done 2 programs other than AOL so far. I am waiting on a few and looking for more! Who would I walk to at A.I.Squared? :?:
.Jim H.
PS I wish I could get the LARGE FONT SIZEs to work here! Anyone tried that? :?:

Jim,

If you check the graphic next to (directly to the left of) each forum (and each post) the forum uses different icons to represent read posts and unread posts (see the main forum page for the key to what each graphic means).

That's a quick, easy way to tell which threads have new/unread messages in them. :-)

Well when your talking about changing the font sizes, the fonts and differnt colors of websites u need to get firefox. Firefox allows u to change fonts sizes colors and view the webpage HOW YOU WANT, not how the website wants.

Firefox is an open source free web browser that is faster more secure and has more features than IE has and even IE7. Download it free at http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html
Just select ur language and operation system (eg Windows for zoomtext uses). Installing is easy just follow the promts and if u need to use windows IE for a website like windows update just use Windows IE, u can have both installed on the same PC.

It is very easy to change the font to any size u want, and while broswing u can just push crtl = (enlarge) or ctrl - (decrese).

You can also go to \"tools ---> options, click on the \"content\" tab and there u will see \"fonts and colours, click on the advanace button to select which font u want to use, the size of the font and if you want to add bold or underline etc.

Make sure that the box \"allow websites to use there own fonts\" is NOT checked.
And then click ok.

Now if you want to change websites colours for text and backgrounds click on colours (tools --> optoins, tab content.. Button below advance)

Now in colors choose ur colors that u want for text and background, links and what not.

Make sure that \"allow websites to use there own colors\" is NOT checked, And click ok.

There a lot of neat features on firefox like tab browsing for one has totally changed the way i use the internet. One thing i do suggest if you want to use firefox, is to get this plug-in extention. It Allows you to view a website in windows IE. This is handy if you go to a site that uses IE exclusivly like windows update.

Download IE view here http://ieview.mozdev.org/installation.html

When u have installed it, and you come across a website that needs IE just click on Tools ->> Always view page in IE and you laughing.

Hi,
It's been a long time since I was here! I am starting a business making automatic glasses that shade your eyes from bright lights. Sunspot gets dark just when and just where you need shade, without dimming the rest of your field of view. They are just in the planning and development stage now!
As for browsers:
AOL has a great browser for everyones use for free!!!! Just go to AOL.com and scroll down to find the tools section in the lower right. It has all the features of FireFox; works on all sites because it is MS IE based; and has lots of cool and fun stuff; RSS feeds; page and photo zoom in and out (great for getting rid of distracting advetisement's animation); TABs browsing; popUp thumbnails of links you have visited; does very well formatting for larger or small fonts; many different favorites and histories lists; skins/theams; PopUp blocking: etc.
I love it!
You don't have to be an AOL member anymore to do a lot in AOL; like get browser, IM software, news, music, video, etc.
Jim H.

i checked out the AOL browser, its good, but still i would recommend FireFox. Firefox has more functions and added extensions and plugins. And also ISNT based on IE, i think the further away from IE the better.
