Using ZoomText 9.0 with Libera’s System 7 Case Management Software (web based)

Errors occur when starting ZoomText 8.11 and later on French and German versions of Windows

On systems containing French or German versions of Windows XP, 2000 or NT4, and utilizing the NTFS file system; the following errors may occur when attempting to run ZoomText:

"ZoomText is not properly installed. Please run the installation program again."

Installing Kurzweil 3000/1000 or Eclipse Writer software over ZoomText causes Neospeech speech synth

The Neospeech speech synthesizers installed with ZoomText becomes disabled when Eclipse Writer's Daisy Talking Book software or Kurzweil 3000/1000 is installed over ZoomText. In addition, if you uninstall either ZoomText or Kurzweil/Eclipse Writer software, Neospeech synthesizers that were installed with other software becomes unavailable for use.

“Unicode Wrapper Error” when launching ZoomText 8.x

This problem occurs on a Windows 98/ME system with both ZoomText and Dolphin SuperNova 6.5 installed. The error occurs on ZoomText startup, when it tries to initialize the Dolphin speech engine. Windows 9x and ME do not provide the proper Unicode support for Dolphin’s speech synthesizer.

System lockup occurs when ViaVoice reads “.-” characters

When using ZoomText Magnifier/ScreenReader with the ViaVoice speech synthesizer, if a period followed by a dash is sent to ViaVoice (such as instances used in references to Swiss currency reference, e.g. "Fr. 1,950.-"), the system may lockup, requiring a power off reboot.  This problem occurs because ViaVoice does not know how to process occurrences of a period followed by a dash.
