When using ZoomText 9.1 with the current releases of Microsoft Word 2007, Excel 2007 and Outlook 2007, you may experience poor performance with ZoomText's typing echo and tracking. These problems are due to changes in Word, Excel and Outlook.

On some Windows Vista and Windows XP systems, when ZoomText is running computer performance may slow down.

When running ZoomText 9.04 or earlier with Libera's System 7 case management software (web based), ZoomText would fail to track and speak many items in the case management screens.

ZoomText will not echo and/or track to the selected cell after switching from one instance of Microsoft Excel to another.

When running ZoomText 8.1 (or greater) in conjunction with Window-Eyes 5.5, ZoomText will not track correctly when the application focus moves around the screen. In addition, ZoomText hotkeys may not function as expected.

BigShot utilizes Microsoft Active Accessibility (MSAA) to track on-screen program activity, such the activation of menus and dialogs and movement of the caret (text entry point). Although MSAA does an excellent job of providing tracking information, it is also known to generate errors or crashes in some applications and dialogs.

Many of MSAA related errors can be eliminated by installing a newer version of the software in which the problem occurs. If a newer version of the software is not available or does not resolve the problem, the problem may be eliminated by disabling BigShot's support for MSAA. 

When typing text in Microsoft Word, ZoomText's typing echo (if enabled) may fail to echo characters and words as they are typed. This problem is caused by one or more of the following:

ZoomText 9.01 provides the following support for Adobe Acrobat Professional version 7.0 (without special settings).

ZoomText Xtra (version 7) is not tracking the mouse pointer in Windows 2000.

On Windows 98 and ME systems, attempts to print to an HP 700 series printer may fail or cause the system to lockup if ZoomText is running. Note: This problem has only been reported by a few ZoomText users and is not believed to occur with all HP 700 series printers.

In Macromedia Dreamweaver MX and 2004, ZoomText may not track the text cursor while you are typing text, allowing the cursor to drift out of the magnified view.
