The information below summarizes the compatibility between ZoomText Xtra and Netscape.
Tracking and speaking html pages
The makers of Netscape and ZoomText Xtra have been working together to improve the compatibility between the two programs. Netscape's "Gecko" HTML rendering engine is being retrofitted with Microsoft Active Accessibility (MSAA) reporting. This is will allow ZoomText to get information from HTML pages that was no available before.
We understand the "Gecko" HTML rendering engine will be part of future releases for CompuServe, AOL and the Netscape browser software. The release schedule is as follows...
Missing Graphics
When running ZoomText in Windows NT 4.0, the Netscape Internet browser was not displaying some graphics on a web page. This problem was fixed in ZoomText version 7.05 ( Released September 27, 2000). All GIF's are now properly displayed and magnified.
Missing Text Buttons
It has been reported that text buttons on web pages do not come up using Netscape 4.77 in Windows 2000 (SP2). Ai Squared reproduced the problem using Netscape 4.76 in Windows 2000 with ZoomText version 7.06. Ai Squared has confirmed this problem is resolved using Upgrading to Netscape 6.01.
If you are encountering problems with Netscape please be sure you are running the current versions of both Netscape and ZoomText.
