KB: Internet Explorer crash when accessing form controls on Amazon web site

PROBLEM

When running ZoomText 8 and accessing form controls on the Amazon web site (www.amazon.com), Internet Explorer may suddenly and unexpectedly exit. The exact cause of this problem is currently unknown.

SOLUTION

To workaround this problem, add the Amazon URL to ZoomText's punt URL file, as follows:

1. In the Windows Explorer, navigate to C:\Program Files\ZoomText 8.1 (or \ZoomText 8.0).
2. Double-click on the \ahoi folder.
3. Open the a_ie_punt_url.txt file in Notepad (or any text editor).
4. On the first line following any existing text, add the following:  http://www.amazon.com...
5. In the menubar, chooseFile > Save.
6. Exit Notepad (or the text editor).
7. Restart ZoomText.
