KB: Hourglass is attached to the mouse pointer when ZoomText is running

The information in this article applies to:
- ZoomText versions 9.0x and 8.xx
PROBLEM
When running ZoomText, an hourglass icon is always attached to the mouse pointer, giving a false indication that other programs are loading in the background.
CAUSE
This problem occurs with certain video cards when the Hardware Acceleration slider control in the Windows display settings is set to less than Full.
SOLUTION
This problem can be resolved by setting the Hardware Acceleration slider control to Full, as follows:
- Click on the Windows Start button.
- Choose Control Panel.
- Double-click on the Display icon.
- Select the Settings tab.
- Click on the Advanced button.
- Select the Troubleshoot tab.
- Set the Hardware Acceleration slider to Full (all the way to the right).
- Click the Apply button.
- Click the OK button.
