KB: Activation Error 50-12 while attempting to activate ZoomText 9.0 District Licenses

The information in this article applies to:
- ZoomText versions 9.02.1, 9.02.2 and 9.03.0
PROBLEM
When attempting to activate a ZoomText 9.0 District License, or transfer the activation license back to Ai Squared's activation server, an Activation Error dialog with error code 50-12 is displayed.
WORKAROUND
You can workaround this problem by activating ZoomText via the ZoomText Manual Activation web page: http://www.aisquared.com/support/more/manual_activation.
Alternatively, you can contact receive assistance from Ai Squared's product support team by sending email to activation@aisquared.com, or by calling the toll-free activation support line at 1-866-331-1233, Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm Eastern Time (US and Canada only).
MORE INFORMATION
District License orders were never shipped with the problem. This problem occurred if ZoomText was updated online to 9.02.1, 9.02.2 or 9.03.0 before activating. These versions are no longer available online and therefore this problem ceased to exist as of June 5, 2006 when 9.03.1 was released.
