KB: Tracking problem when running ZoomText with Window-Eyes 5.5

The information in this article applies to:

• ZoomText 8.1 or greater
• Window-Eyes 5.5

PROBLEM

When running ZoomText 8.1 (or greater) in conjunction with Window-Eyes 5.5, ZoomText will not track correctly when the application focus moves around the screen. In addition, ZoomText hotkeys may not function as expected.

SOLUTION

To resolve this problem, ZoomText users need to download and install the Window-Eyes 5.5 R1 patch.

If you are using ZoomText with a version of Window-Eyes prior to 5.5, and are experiencing these types of problems, you will need to upgrade to Window-Eyes 5.5, and then install the Window-Eyes 5.5 R1 patch.

Note: This patch should only be installed by users of Window-Eyes 5.5 and ZoomText 8.1 or greater. If you're using a version of ZoomText less than 8.1, you do not need this patch.

To download and install the R1 patch

1. Select the link below to open the GW Micro web page containing the Window-Eyes 5.5 R1 patch.
   http://gwmicro.com/Support/Downloads/?fileNo=1104
2. Click on the Download Now link.
3. Once you have downloaded the patch file, double-click on the file to install the patch. Follow the prompts to complete the installation.
4. Once the patch has been installed, reboot your computer.
5. After your computer has rebooted, the focus tracking and hotkey issues described above will be resolved.
