PROBLEM

When using ZoomText 8 in Internet Explorer 7, magnified text may appear fuzzy and difficult to read.

CAUSE

Internet Explorer 7 uses Windows’ ClearType feature to smooth the edges of screen fonts for clearer, more legible viewing (in unmagnified screens). However, when magnified, the clarity of ClearType text degrades significantly.

SOLUTION

To resolve this problem, disable the ClearType option in Internet Explorer 7, as follows:

1. On the IE7 toolbar, click on the Tools > Internet Options.

   The Internet Options dialog appears.

2. Select the Advanced tab.
3. Scroll down to the Multimedia heading.
4. Uncheck Always use ClearType for HTML.
5. Select the Ok button.
6. Restart IE7.
